She was one of seven kids that Guilherme Giorgi had. Guilherme immigrated from Italy to Sao Paulo and become an entrepreneur. He started with very little and built himself and his family a large fortune. He build a large conglomerate that started by processing cotton into yarn, then fabric, then blankets. It eventually expanded into sugar and salt production. Guilherme died in 1936/37 in his 50’s. His oldest son Rogerio (Brasilina’s oldest brother) took over. Ana Maria has a brother Rogerio named after his uncle. This films was made shortly after the death of Guilherme Giorgi. It shows the mills that Guilherme had built by 1936. Reynaldo went to work in these mills as a manager when he graduated from college in the 1970’s. I remember visiting the mills in the 1980’s and it looked very much like it did in 1936. The film was premiered first in Italy and then brought to Sao Paulo. It was probably paid by Brasilina’s son Ceasar to honor his dad. From cousin Elena Giorgi: Get an idea of the commotion it was, when the movie arrived, with the war starting. For this reason, nobody knew about it. And my father referred to the film can as "that old can that is not to be moved". And the movie can “disappeared” until we moved houses, where the “old can” was kept in the mess under the stairs. After my father passed away, one day I decided to open the “old can” and saw that it was a 35mm film, very difficult to be seen. But I saw it referred to the Giogi Group in the first frames of the film. However, the roller was damaged. As the Giogi Group was advertising on TV, I remembered to ask Reynaldo if the advertising firm would be able to reproduce the film. It was rewound, cleaned and shown in a movie theater. So I made DVD copies for all my siblings and gave them the DVD for Christmas. However, I don't think they had a DVD player and “didn't really understand” what this movie was about. And through time, each DVD was lost. Now the movie has re-emerged in a streaming format. Brasilina can be seen at the end of the video in the family gathering seen with glasses, blond and very elegant.
